The Triskele Labs team is in Brisbane for the AHECS summit, and we're making the most of being in town. We've privately hired VR Motorsports; Brisbane's most sophisticated professional simulation facility, for an afternoon with a small group of senior security executives. This is not a seminar, a vendor briefing or a structured agenda. It's an invitation to get behind the wheel of a professional-grade racing simulator, push a few limits, and have the kind of candid peer conversation about cybersecurity that rarely happens in a formal setting. Being in Brisbane for AHECS also gives us a genuine chance to catch up with people we don't get to see often, if you're based in Brisbane or nearby, this is as much an invitation for you as it is for anyone flying in for the summit. Whether you're attending AHECS or simply local to the city, we'd love to have you in the room. Spaces are limited to 20–25 people, with catering by Charcuterie & Co and a fully licensed bar on-site.
Six professional full-motion simulators, capable of simultaneous head-to-head racing across Formula 1, V8 Supercars, GT3, LMP1, drift cars and hundreds of tracks including Albert Park, Bathurst, Monza and the Nürburgring, the same class of technology used by Red Bull's F1 driver training programme.
For safety reasons, the simulator rigs have a maximum user weight of 130kg. If you have any concerns about this ahead of the day, please let us know when registering and we're happy to talk through it.

Co-Drivers or Backseat Drivers?: AI in the SOC
Every car on the grid now has some form of driver-assist. The question is whether it's actually making the driver faster, or just adding a dashboard full of warnings nobody has time to read. Same question applies to AI in your SOC, and it's worth pressure-testing in a room full of people actually driving.
- Where has AI-assisted triage genuinely shaved seconds off response time, versus just added noise to the dash?
- Is anyone seeing AI used against them yet on-track - deepfakes, AI-written phishing, or worse?

Open Track, Closed Circuit: Security Without Slowing Research Down
A racetrack only works because it's both open enough to race on and controlled enough that nobody ends up in the wall. Higher education runs the same balance; research networks need to stay open and collaborative, but they still need guardrails. This tension came up repeatedly in AHECS sessions last year.
- Where's the actual line between academic openness and acceptable risk, once you're past the theory?
- What's actually gotten research teams to work with security controls, rather than find a way around them?

Checking Every Car on the Grid: Third-Party Risk Across a Federated Institution
A race is only as safe as the weakest car on the grid, one mechanical failure can take out half the field. Universities run an enormous number of "cars"; vendors, research partners, faculties, each with their own setup, and often the least visible part of the whole track.
- How are institutions actually keeping tabs on what's connected to what, across faculties and campuses?
- Has anyone found a way to scrutineer vendors continuously, rather than a once-a-year inspection?

Getting there: for guests staying at the Pullman Brisbane King George Square, Triskele Labs will provide a private shuttle departing the lobby at 11:45 AM and returning from VR Motorsports at 2:45 PM with a central CBD drop-off. Guests making their own way are welcome, the venue is approximately 15–20 minutes from the CBD by car or rideshare.
Food is provided by Charcuterie & Co: specialists in premium charcuterie boards, grazing platters and artisan catering, served throughout the afternoon between simulator sessions.
