Unwrapping the Essentials, Craig Martin followed by Brad Morgan.

Overview

In October, ASD replaced the Essential Eight with the Essentials series. The focus is now on outcomes, evidence that controls work, and accountability at executive and board level.

Meanwhile, AI is changing how attacks happen and how security teams respond. Both are on every leader’s 2027 agenda, so we’re putting them on the table over lunch.

What to expect

Craig Martin, Head of Incident Response, explains what ASD changed and what it means for your contracts, tenders, insurance, and board reporting. He’ll also cover why identity and edge devices top the list, and three things to do before mid-2027.

Brad Morgan, Head of Managed Services, shares how we’re using AI to supercharge our security teams and what it means for the wider industry.

Then it’s over to you for questions and conversation over dessert. You’ll leave with our whitepaper on the Essentials, a one-page transition checklist, and a small Christmas gift.

Who should attend

CISOs and heads of cybersecurity

What the Essentials means for your security programme, and how AI is changing security operations.

CIOs, CTOs and heads of IT

What the Essentials asks of your enterprise, cloud, and OT environments, and where AI fits in.

CFOs, COOs and risk executives

The accountability the Essentials puts on executives and boards, and the questions to ask your teams.

Security and risk leads

Compare notes on your security programme with peers and the Triskele Labs team. This lunch brings a small group of customers and peers together; places are limited.

Something to talk about

Bring your questions about the Essentials and your organisation’s priorities for 2027. Compare notes with peers over lunch.

  • Who owns cyber at board level in your organisation today, and would the Essentials agree?
  • Which of your current controls could you prove are working, with evidence?
  • Contracts, tenders and insurance still reference Essential Eight maturity levels. What happens to them now?
  • If you could fix one thing in the first quarter of 2027, what would it be?
